Thanks to Karen Behnke, a serial entrepreneur who developed a keen interest in creating personal products after the effects on her skin during her pregnancy at age 40, we have this phenomenal gluten free makeup brand. We appreciate this industrious California Girl!

How do I figure out which products are organic and which products are just “natural?”

Juice Beauty goes beyond natural. “Natural” products don’t have any regulation so any company can name their products “natural” if they have a few ingredients that come from the earth. Natural products range from some pretty good companies trying to do the right thing …to hundreds of personal care companies that are simply using the term “natural” for marketing purposes.

However, “Organic” goes way beyond “Natural”.

If a product is labeled Organic on the front of the package and sold in the State of California (and soon Colorado) which has extremely rigorous organic regulations…then generally, the products contain USDA certified organic ingredients from farms that use a system of farming that maintains and replenishes soil fertility without the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers.

Be watchful of some of the products that contain the word Organic in the label:

In the United States, the product NAME can contain Organic or some cute form of Organic (like “Organix”) and have little to no organic ingredients. The Product Name is exempt from all regulations and this is the loophole that many companies use to falsely market their products as organic.

Why use skincare products made with organic ingredients?

Because your skin absorbs over 64% of what you place on it, why not use the most healthful products on the market? People use organic beauty products for the same reason they buy organic food because they care about their health, their family’s health and the environment.

Beauty products and foods that are made with organic ingredients are spared the application of toxic and persistent insecticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilizers. Many Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved pesticides were registered long before extensive research linked these chemicals to cancer and other diseases. In the long run, organic farming techniques provide a safer, more sustainable environment for everyone. The Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2002 published a study that found higher antioxidant benefits in organic fruit than non-organic fruit. These essential nutrients are vital for healthy, radiant skin.

Are your products Gluten Free?

Every single Juice Beauty product is Gluten Free. Juice Beauty products are manufactured in cosmetic labs that do not manufacture food and do not use wheat based ingredients and therefore do not have wheat in their labs.
